SOLAR PANELS

SAVE WITH SOLAR AND SELL YOUR EXCESS ENERGY BACK TO THE GRID

Homes without solar power have meters that measure how much electricity (kWhs) is delivered to the home from the electricity provider.  A Net Meter measures both the amount of electricity delivered to the home and the amount of excess electricity sent back to the provider, which was generated from solar and not used by the home.  Power produced from the solar panels is used by the home first, and if additional demand for the home is required then power is delivered from the grid.  If more power is produced by the solar panels than the home requires, the excess is sent back to the grid and shown as the amount of power (kWhs) received by the electricity provider on the meter.
